November 13 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Two Syrian soldiers have died and three more have been injured by the impact of an Israeli missile against a military base in the province of Homs, as denounced by the Syrian government.
“Two soldiers have been martyred and three more have been injured as a result of the impact of an Israeli missile at the Shayrat military airport in Homs province,” the official Syrian news agency SANA reported.
The attack came from the direction of Tripoli and Hermel, in northern Lebanon, according to a military source quoted by the news agency. Syrian air defenses have repelled “Israeli missile aggression” and shot down several missiles, according to the source.
However, the attack has caused these two deaths and injuries to three more soldiers, as well as “material losses”, added the source quoted by SANA.
The Israeli Armed Forces have not commented on what happened as they always do with this type of air strike against Syrian targets.
A few days ago a convoy was attacked by Israeli missiles near the Syria-Iraq border, killing ten people, including several Iranians. The convoy was carrying fuel and possibly weapons between Iran and Lebanon.
Israel generically recognizes attacks to prevent the delivery of Iranian weapons to the Lebanese Hezbollah militia party, an ally of Tehran, but not concrete actions. It also maintains a precarious diplomatic balance between Russia, which effectively controls Syrian airspace, and its Western allies, which support Ukraine.
