Sep. 6 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Syrian regime has accused the Israeli Armed Forces on Tuesday of again perpetrating an attack against the Aleppo airport and has confirmed damage to the runway, which would have been out of service.
Military sources cited by the official SANA agency have assured that the attack occurred around 8:15 p.m. (local time), when several missiles hit Aleppo International Airport.
The airfield had already been attacked on August 31, also by Israeli forces, according to Damascus, which has again ensured on this occasion that its anti-aircraft defense systems have stopped part of the projectiles launched.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which reports independently on the conflict, has also confirmed the latest attack. According to their accounts, it would be the twenty-fifth launched by Israel so far this year.
The organization has cited several warehouses owned by pro-Iranian militiamen as the target of the latest operation, although at least two of the missiles would have hit the airfield runway.
