March 22 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Syrian authorities have denounced this Wednesday a new Israeli air attack on the Aleppo International Airport, which would have caused some material damage.
The Syrian Ministry of Defense has explained that the attack took place around 03:55 (local time) from the Mediterranean Sea, west of the coastal city of Latakia.
However, the statement has not specified whether there have been victims or what kind of damage has occurred.
With this attack, it is the second time that the Aleppo airport has been targeted by the Israeli Armed Forces in recent weeks. In early March, air traffic in the region was temporarily suspended for several days to carry out repair operations after the attack.
This airport was receiving numerous flights with international humanitarian aid for those affected by the earthquakes that hit the Turkish-Syrian border at the beginning of February and left more than 50,000 dead in both countries.
Israel generically recognizes attacks in Syria arguing that it acts to prevent the establishment of Iranian bases in the country and the shipment of weapons to the Lebanese Shiite militia party Hezbollah by the Iranian authorities, which support Damascus within the framework of the war that broke out in 2011.
