Syria claims to have intercepted a new Israeli air strike, the third in less than a week

The Syrian authorities have warned that this Thursday, early in the morning, they have intercepted a new air attack blamed on the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the third bombing carried out against the territory in less than a week.

The Syrian Ministry of Defense has thus accused the Israeli Army of launching missiles at several points near the capital, Damascus, according to a statement indicating that several areas have been hit.

In this sense, the Syrian authorities have confirmed that for the moment no fatalities have been registered and have assured that the majority of missiles have been intercepted, as reported by the SANA news agency.

“The Israeli enemy carried out an air aggression from the area of ​​the occupied Palestinian territories and targeting some points in the vicinity of the city of Damascus. Our air defense systems have dealt with the missiles and have shot down some of them. The losses are material,” the Ministry stressed.

The Israeli authorities have not commented yet, although they have previously reported operations and attacks against targets of Iranian-backed groups in Syria.
