The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has denounced the Turkish military forces present in northern Syria for depriving more than a million inhabitants of the Syrian province of Hasaka of drinking water.

Damascus denounces that the repeated water cuts constitute a collective punishment against the civilian population, especially for vulnerable groups such as children, women and the elderly, in addition to being a war crime and a crime against humanity.
The statement has also appealed to the international community and the UN because “sentences are no longer enough” and calls for immediate measures to stop these practices.
