Sydney Sweeney is unrecognizable as professional boxer Christy Martin

Sidney Sweeney is getting into fight mode for his latest film, a biopic about professional boxer Christy Martin.

The “Euphoria” actress looked ready to fight as she shared behind the scenes photos from the set of his project about the super welterweight champion on Instagram.

In the photos, taken by Eddy Chen Sweeney has traded in his blonde hair for a curly brunette cut, very ’90s, and flexes his biceps while wearing baggy sweatshirts and a red tank top.

Revealing how she has been preparing for the as-yet-untitled film, the star’s caption said she has been “immersed in training” for several months.

In her post, the “El Loto Blanco” star described Martin as an “incredible woman” and “a true champion who fought battles both inside and outside the ring.”

“Her journey is a testament to resilience, strength and hope, and I am honored to step into her shoes to share her powerful story with all of you,” Sweeney said.

Although she was a pro at taking hits during her in-ring career, real-life violence nearly took Martin’s life.

In 2010, the International Boxing Hall of Fame member survived an assassination attempt by her husband James Martin, who left her for dead after stabbing and shooting her in their Florida home.

Sweeney first announced the project in May. deadline how he “wanted to get back in the ring” after having practiced kickboxing when he was between 12 and 19 years old.

“Christy’s story is not easy, it is physically and emotionally demanding, there is a lot of weight to carry,” he said. “But I love challenging myself.”

The biopic will co-star Ben Foster as James Martin, while actors Merritt Weaver, Katy O’Brien, Ethan Embry, Jess Gabor, Chad L. Coleman and Tony Cavalero will provide support.
