Suspended the director of the Royal Moroccan Police Institute

The head of the General Directorate of National Security of the Moroccan Police (DGSN), Abdelatif Hamuchi, has ordered the provisional suspension from office of the director of the Royal Moroccan Police Institute (RIP) in the framework of an evaluation carried out by the General Inspectorate of National Security.

The dismissal of the person in charge, whose name has not been revealed, is part of a series of disciplinary sanctions and evaluation measures within an investigation carried out by the General Inspection of National Security on the management of the RIP, including the schools that depend on the same, according to a source in the security apparatus quoted by the official Moroccan news agency, MAP.

This investigation revealed dysfunctions, professional abuses and individual behaviors that go against the standards of security governance and professional ethics of the police.

The director of the RIP and two other officials also suspended – a brigadier general and a police inspector – must submit to a disciplinary council that will examine the irregularities found in the investigation.

In addition, a reprimand has been issued to an agent and warnings to three other officials of the institution, including two commissioners and a police inspector.

Three senior officers found guilty of negligence in the performance of their duties, including a division commissioner, a senior peace officer and a peacekeeper, are also named. A peace division commander has been removed from his post.
