Planes of the Sudanese Army have bombarded the headquarters of the paramilitary Rapid Action Forces (RSF), the Soba camp, in the country’s capital, Khartoum, within the fighting that has broken out between the two formations and that has left the process of civil transition in the African country on the verge of total collapse.
In its statement, the Army also reports the destruction of more than 80 paramilitary formation vehicles, now according to the military in the process of withdrawing from strategic areas of the capital.
The colonel of the Sudanese Army, Khaled Abdullah, has also assured the pan-Arab chain Al Jazeera that the military forces are about to take control of the Khartoum international airport, in dispute since this morning, as well as to stabilize the situation in the Meroe military base, some 220 kilometers from the capital and also the scene of clashes.
The Army has urged the population to stay in their homes given the prevailing situation of violence and chaos, according to the note, collected by the Sudan Ajbar news portal.
