Sudanese Army publishes video with alleged UAE military material in captured RSF warehouses

MADRID 11 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Sudanese Army published a video this Thursday in which it shows military material belonging to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in warehouses captured from the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in what is another attempt to demonstrate support from Dubai to the militia they have been fighting since April 2023 in a war that has plunged the country into a serious humanitarian crisis.

“The support of the United Arab Emirates appears to be evident in the Jabal Mowa area of central Sudan, where the Armed Forces have found large transport vehicles with Dubai license plates and, by matching the documents related to them, it is clear that came from the UAE and were used to transport supplies and combat equipment for the RSF rebel militia,” reads a statement from the Army published on its Facebook social network account and accompanied by a video showing the weapons.

The images show an alleged warehouse taken from the RSF with boxes, weapons, supplies and medicines with UAE symbols or addresses. According to the Army, they show signs that an attempt has been made to delete the data, although some of the labels shown can distinguish the letters and signs of UAE.

It should be noted that the official forces have Egypt as their main ally, while the paramilitary side has the support of the United Arab Emirates and maintains good relations with Russia.

Sudan is mired in a civil war following hostilities that broke out in April 2023 amid increased tensions over the integration of the RSF into the Armed Forces. Violent clashes have derailed the transition opened after the 2019 overthrow of Sudanese President Omar Hasan al Bashir.
