The Sudanese Foreign Ministry announced this Wednesday that it has received “unconfirmed information” about the death of two Sudanese citizens who would have lost their lives during the assault on the Melilla fence last Saturday and in which at least 23 people died. , according to official figures.

According to Sudanese diplomacy, the Sudanese Embassy in Rabat contacted the Moroccan authorities on the same day of the incident to request official information about the deceased.

“The Moroccan authorities undertook to provide the Embassy with what is necessary after the completion of the process of investigation and verification of the facts,” the Sudanese Foreign Ministry said in a statement.


“Several illegal immigrants tried to assault the fence that separates the Moroccan city of Nador and the Spanish enclave of Melilla”, the Ministry detailed in the letter, adding that “several illegal immigrants died after that, including two Sudanese citizens, according to unidentified sources”. confirmed”.
