Tate had staged a confrontation with the young environmentalist Greta Thunberg days before on social networks
Dec. 30 () –
The Romanian Police arrested former boxer and streamer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate on Thursday afternoon in Bucharest, both being investigated for their alleged involvement in an organized criminal group of human trafficking.
The Romanian Directorate of Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) has issued a 24-hour arrest warrant after the Tate brothers were accused by the country’s Prosecutor’s Office of having formed an organized criminal group with which they recruited, they housed and forced women to create materials with pornographic content for further distribution, Romania TV has reported.
Andrew and Tristan, both British citizens with occasional residence in Romania, have been assaulted in a house in the town of Voluntari, on the outskirts of the Romanian capital, after the Police have been able to prove that they were in the country.
Specifically, the Romanian authorities needed to determine that Andrew Tate was in Romania for his arrest, a fact that they were able to verify with a video that the ex-boxer posted on social networks on Wednesday and in which he responded to a mockery of the young environmentalist Greta Thunberg.
In said video, in which Tate lashes out at Thunberg for her defense of the fight against climate change, a box from a popular Romanian pizza chain appears, warning the Romanian Police of its presence in the country after having been in United States and participate in the transmission on Twitch of the also ‘streamer’ Adin Ross.
In April 2022, police and several prosecutors found two young women, one of whom is a US citizen, in a villa in Voluntari. Both women claimed that the two British brothers forcibly held them.
Later, Andrew and Tristan Tate were interrogated for five hours in the DIICOT before being released, although the investigations continued their course, reported ‘Adevarul’.
