The president of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelensky, visited NATO headquarters in Brussels this Thursday, where he was received by its secretary general, Jens Stoltenberg, after having participated in the summit of European Union leaders that ratified the agreement. with Ukraine to support the country in the long term against the Russian invasion.
This meeting was used to talk about the preparations for the NATO summit that Washington will host between July 9 and 11, in which Stoltenberg hopes that the allies will agree on the initiative to coordinate security aid and the training of Ukrainian troops.
“I think we are really on the path to a very good NATO summit for Ukraine and for the Alliance,” Stoltenberg said at the start of the meeting, where he congratulated Zelensky on the security agreement reached with his EU partners, which confirms 5 billion euros for 2024 and marks this figure as the path of annual military support until 2027.
