Ubisoft has several games in development that it announced years ago and because they still have no date or release window, they have suggested on several occasions that they may well have been canceled. One of them is Beyond Good & Evil 2but there is good news, because information has just come to light that confirms that the title still stands.
We know that Ubisoft had plans to create this title since 2008, but it wasn’t until 2017 that it was formally revealed at E3 2017. However, since then development updates have been minimal and there is still no release window.
Although Ubisoft has reiterated on a few occasions that the project is still in development, the truth is that the absence of news suggests that it is far from ready and any news is taken as something positive by fans.

After so much development, Beyond Good & Evil 2 has a new writer
Through her Twitter account, developer Sarah Arellano announced that she has just joined the project as the new lead writer. She is creative before joining Ubisoft Montpellier (studio in charge of Beyond Good & Evil 2), I participate in Vainglory (2015), in addition to the remake of Saint’s Row soon to debut, and served as director of narrative in world of warcraft.
Precisely due to the little information about the title, it is unknown which creative previously held this position. It is only known that the narrative director at least in 2017 was Gabrielle Shrager.
It’s possible for a game in development to change creatives in the middle of development, but it’s rare for it to be important people like the lead writer. If we add to this that the project has been in development for several years, it is normal to think that there have been problems in the creative process. But clearly it is also an indicator that the project is still standing and that it could well be aligned for a more fluid development and with a direction to finally materialize.
“We are very happy to welcome Sarah, who is one of the latest recruits to Beyond Good & Evil 2. The development team is working hard to deliver on the promise we made to the community,” Ubisoft told pc gamer.
