Now, the businessman has announced that the second iteration of his satellite internet service will arrive in 2023, as he has written on his Twitter profile, where he has revealed what will initially be his name Starlink V2.

This service will be characterized mainly by its ability to transmit network directly to the mobile phones of its users, with the aim of being able to eliminate all “dead zones” and offer internet in any corner of the world.


To do this, it will join the T-Mobile company within the framework of the Coverage Above & Beyond plan, with which both companies plan to provide almost complete coverage in most of the United States, as announced by the directors of both companies. in an event.

On the other hand, the CEO of SpaceX has clarified on Twitter that the connectivity of Starlink V2 will be between 2 and 4 megabits (Mbits) per zone, connection levels that will foreseeably allow calls and text messages, but they will not be enough. to rival high bandwidth.

So far, Starlink requires installing an antenna kit, which is responsible for transmitting the signal to a Wi-Fi router, also included. Finally, the user’s mobile phone is connected to this modem to use a network with internet access.
