A little over a year ago it was confirmed that Eric Barone, creator of Stardew Valleyhe was already working on his new game called Haunted Chocolatier. Now, the also known as ConcernedApe has just shared some statements in which he states that said title will take longer than expected.
As you will surely remember, this new proposal is a role-playing and simulation game in which you will take control of a chocolate factory, for which you will put yourself in the shoes of a master chocolatier who lives in an enchanted castle and who must find the best ingredients for their products.
It’s been a long time since Barone spoke about this project, and now the creative has just given an interview to our friends at screen rantwhere he talked about different aspects of this game and its development:
“It’s going well, it’s a great game. I have a big and ambitious vision for him. It’s a bit daunting how much work is going to be done. But Stardew Valley it took me 4 and a half years; I have been working on Haunted Chocolatier for about a year and a half or maybe 2 years. I announced it a little over a year ago, but it’s still going to take a while,” ConcernedApe said.

Thanks to these statements, we can be sure that there is still a long way to go before we can learn more about this interesting proposal that, according to the words of its creator, could last something similar to what it took to Stardew Valley.
However, Barone took advantage of the moment to talk about what will be the main mission in the title:
“I think the core of the game is gathering ingredients; that’s most of it. The shop is a bit more passive, but the idea is that you can manage it yourself until you start getting help from the ghosts. So, you can automate all of that and then give her chocolates and design the place. There will be many features in the store, ”he finished.
