Spotify prepares group sessions for the web

The streaming music platform is working on a novelty for the web that already exists in the mobile and tablet version: group sessions, which it will soon incorporate so that users can listen to music with their friends from a distance.

Group sessions are available for mobile phones and tablets in the Spotify Premium subscription and with it a user can invite others to join a session, allowing management of what is played in it from anywhere, and listening to the playback on their own devices.

This function is typical of mobile devices, but now Spotify plans to incorporate it into the web version as well, as some have shared. users on reddit. The web interface incorporates the possibility of creating a new session in the ‘social functions’ section.

When creating a new group session, the streaming audio platform points out that other people can be invited to join, to listen together no matter where they are. For now, the group session for the web is under development, but it is expected to reach users soon.
