Spotify exceeds 200 million premium users and its revenues grow 18%

In its earnings report, Spotify highlighted that the growth of premium subscribers was led by Latin America in the last quarter of the year, while throughout 2022, the service added 25 million paying subscribers.

For this last period of the year, the end-of-year campaign, Spotify Wrapped, also had a positive impact on platform users, generating 30% growth in the number of monthly active users, reaching 156 million users.

Regarding release milestones, the company noted that in October, Taylor Swift released her tenth studio album, Midnights, which became the most streamed album in a single day and broke the record for the most streamed artist in a single day in Spotify history.

“The fourth quarter had great platform growth. We finished 2022 strong despite a challenging year. Expect us to move faster with more intensity of effort, driving even greater efficiency in 2023,” commented the company’s CEO, Daniel Ek.
