Spain leads the world ranking of bald. Baldness is directly related to the territory in which they live, and a study has revealed that it is a very important issue to take into account.
Among the main signs are also the density loss, the appearance of areas of peeling or finding more hair on the comb. But, apparently, the geographical area is another key factor.
The research that has led to the conclusions is carried out by Medihair and published at the end of 2023 indicates that the percentage of male hair loss “can vary significantly from one country to another”.
In this way, after a complete analysis the platform has been able to verify which are the territories with the highest percentage of bald people, being Spain the country that stands outwith a 44.5% of bald people – all countries remain close to half of the population. Followed by our country is Italy (44.37%), France (44.25%) and the United States (42.68%). This top 5 is led by Germany, with 41.51%.
Western countries, balder than Eastern countries
Western countries are generally balder than Eastern countries, according to the aforementioned study.
It is not due to a trivial issue, but rather there are a series of reasons why this classification is like this and not otherwise.
The first of them is purely geneticsand research suggests that Caucasians are more genetically predisposed to experiencing male-pattern hair loss.
The second is directly related to the dietary habits, and diet plays a crucial role in hair health. Thus, many people in the West consume excessive meat and other processed foods that lack the essential vitamins and minerals necessary for hair growth.
Another factor, somewhat linked to the above, is the nutrient deficiency. Thus, according to this analysis, insufficient vitamins B12 or D can also promote hair loss. And these types of deficiencies are more common in Western populations.
Of course, age also plays a key role, as Western countries tend to have slightly older populations, which can contribute to higher baldness rates. To give just one example, in United Kingdom the average age of men is 40 years, while in Asian areas such as Indonesia or India, the population is usually younger. That is, male pattern baldness varies by area, region, and ethnicity. Lifestyle, hormones or age also influence.
