Sightful launches Spacetop, a computer without a screen arrives as the first portable augmented reality equipment, a concept that we had not previously seen on the market but that, in essence, replaces the screen that we would find integrated into any laptop with augmented reality glasses.
This allows us to have virtual screens of more than 100 inches, a size that we would generally only achieve with a projector, and that would definitely not be something that we can use anywhere, as is the case with this product, that will allow us to have a screen as big as we need both in the comfort of our sofa and in the restricted space of a commercial flight.
In principle, one of the main advantages is the intuitiveness of its operationbecause according to the company, it works “without further ado” as a laptop, so that users will enjoy a familiar experience, but improved, thanks to the absence of new gestures to learn, external hardware, or additional software.
Last but not least, this device has great privacy by design, since only we, who wear the glasses, will be able to know what is happening on our “screen”, since said screen only appears in our field of vision and not that of others.
At the hardware level we find a Snapdragon 865, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of internal storage, and something called Spacetop OS, something that suggests that it really is an Android device, incompatible with Windows applications.
Currently, the equipment is available to purchase in early access, but the price is not publicly mentioned, which generally indicates that it will be very expensive. –as it usually happens when a new product is launched that nobody has done before-.
