“In light of the recently revealed facts, I believe it is necessary to quickly suspend President Yoon Suk Yeol’s duties to protect the Republic of Korea and its people,” said Han Dong Hoon during an emergency meeting of his formation at the headquarters of the body. legislative.

The PPP leader has confirmed “with credible evidence” that the president gave orders to the counterintelligence commander, Yeo In Hyung, to arrest important political figures, including himself and the leader of the opposition Democratic Party, Lee Jae Myung.

In this sense, Han has warned that the current president could take “radical actions” like these again, if he continues in office, which would put the country in “serious danger.”

These words come at the doors of the impeachment vote against Yoon. For the impeachment motion to go forward, the support of at least eight PPP deputies is needed. Although the party had asked its parliamentarians for unity to prevent it from being approved, Han’s statements represent a change of course for the party’s ranks.
