The South Korean Coast Guard announced Monday that it had rescued eight people, three of them unconscious, after a fishing boat capsized in Gunsan, on the west coast of the Korean peninsula.
Authorities received a report at 7.30am that a 35-tonne boat had capsized at sea. The Coast Guard sent a helicopter and a boat to the area, rescuing all crew members.
The boat suffered an accident while fishing in the area, although the exact cause is not yet known. Some of the crew have been taken to hospital, South Korean news agency Yonhap reported.
