“Sorry,” insider apologizes for Zelda leaks that didn’t come true

One of the strongest rumors surrounding the past Nintendo Direct was that the company would announce some ports of its most popular sagas, which included a couple of titles from The Legend of Zelda and another of metroid. However, the announcements did not arrive and one of the insiders who supported the rumors the most wants to apologize.

As I’m sure you know, it was Jeff Grubb of Giant Bombwho raised his voice days before the Nintendo event to affirm that we would see the ports of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD Y Metroid Prime on the hybrid console.

However, it seems that everything was just rumors and the insider has just spoken again on the subject to share a few words with the community, which is not very happy with him.

In a video of approximately 13 minutesGrubb wanted to offer an apology for the rumors both on his behalf and on behalf of Mike Minotti, another of the insiders who spoke about said ports.

In addition, he confirmed that they were wrong to go ahead and talk about the rumors without verifying their sources, since they did not carry out an investigation process about the possible existence of the games of The Legend of Zelda and they got carried away by the hype, just like the fans.

On the other hand, and so that the spirits are not on the ground, Grubb again mentioned that a remastering of Metroid Prime it’s on the way and he’s confident it will be released in the holiday season this year, so he doesn’t understand why Nintendo didn’t announce it.

Now, the insider promised that he will not talk about any rumors again until he has verified it twice, so he hopes to give information closer to what Nintendo may announce in the future.
