Sony confirms that it will not launch its exclusives on day 1 on PC, only on PlayStation
During a session with investors Hermen Hulst, who will take the reins of Sony Interactive Entertainment and PlayStation in a couple of days, revealed that Sony’s intention is not for all of its video games to come out on day 1 on PC. According to the manager, PlayStation will have 3 types of launch for their console and computer users. First, there are PlayStation Studios exclusives as The Last of Us, god of war and horizon and new franchises that will debut only on the current console, today PS5, tomorrow PS6, etc.
Then, there will be those PlayStation Studios titles that after a certain time will make the jump to PC, but in this case their objective is to take computer users to Sony consoles because the company wants players to play the first title on PC , but the sequel on a PlayStation, as Hermen Hulst pointed out.
Finally, games as a service, and this is where Sony has taken note of the success of Helldivers IIas he announced that these titles will debut on day 1 on PlayStation 5 and PC, except in the case of MLB: The Show which is limited to consoles.
