The photography division of the Japanese company Sony has announced its new brand LYTIA for photographic sensors for high-end smartphones.
With this movement, the company seeks to create a greater brand image and visibility in a sector where they are already very present and which they practically dominate, since a large part of current smartphones use their famous “IMX” sensors.
Other companies like Samsung already have their own brand to their credit, in this case known as ISOCELL, although their presence is much more limited to their own terminals and some third-party ones.
In any case, Sony has not yet revealed any specific model of its new LYTIA brand, except to ensure that they will have support for HDR with its own technologycapabilities to take photos in situations of movement with clarity and with a wide dynamic range with which to be able to capture photos in difficult situations such as backlighting or sunsets.
They will also have autofocus in all its pixels, with a high speed even in dark areas, and all this with the support of technologies such as Artificial intelligence and integration with the environment in Augmented Reality systems.
We will have to wait to see what Sony surprises us with with its next generation of LYTIA sensors.
