Sony confirms that Final Fantasy XVI will be exclusive to PlayStation 5 for six months

Sony has publicly confirmed that finally final fantasy xvithe new installment of the Square Enix role-playing saga, will have exclusivity for PlayStation 5 for six months.

The video game, which was first announced in 2020, is promoted along with other games in the trailer released by ps5 this Tuesday, and you can read: “Final Fantasy XVI for summer 2023. PS5 exclusive for six months.”

In its presentation, Final Fantasy XVI was described as a video game for PS5 but it was also reported that would be available for pc. However, it was unknown if it would be released at a different time for PC or simultaneously.

In this sense, the warnings of industry analyst Piers Harding-Rolls are reaffirmed, who already warned at the time of the video game’s presentation that the launch for PC would arrive six months after that of PS5, and with potential for other consoles after one year.

On the other hand, the PlayStation trailer includes another one of Square Enix’s games, forspokenwhich will be released on January 25, 2023 and that will also be exclusive for ps5 for a total of two years (until 2025).

Thus, Sony continues with its exclusivity since with Final Fantasy VII Remake the situation has been similar. This installment of Square Enix arrived on PC at the end of last year, while it was initially released on PS4 in April 2020.
