Oct. 8 (EDIZIONES/Portaltic) –
I have always been very reluctant to include a subwoofer in my sound system. Living in a community of neighbors forces you to also think about those who share a wall with you and when I have had the opportunity to connect this type of device, it has given me the impression that the bass was so powerful that they could become annoying.
I recently got the new Sonos Sub Mini And it made me change my mind. At least for now. I have been able to test it for a few weeks and this brand new wireless subwoofer, which reduces its size to open up to a larger audience, keeps very well balanced bass, without shrillness that makes the whole floor vibrate.
One of the keys is Trueplay fit technology (available for iOS), which optimizes bass for adapt to each space and, from my point of view, it manages to give the perfect finishing touch to a sound system without being exaggerated. Thus, in addition, the user can move the Sub Mini around different rooms in the house and improve the sound of the television audio equipment or a space designed for ‘gaming’ with the same subwoofer.
The Sonos app is so intuitive and easy to use that it’s not tedious to move the device from one space to another. This, without a doubt, is another of the great advantages of the brand. Just take the Sub Mini out of its box, turn it on and pair it with your stereo that you already have installed at home.
TECHNOLOGY AND DESIGN
Sub Mini features a pair of woofers facing each other to create a force cancellation effect that neutralizes distortion while generating the full-tone low frequencies typical of a larger subwoofer. In this way, the company has managed to create a more versatile product without compromising quality.
Also thanks to its design, the device minimizes hum or distortion to make us more immersed in each scene and song. The center tunnel moves air efficiently to maximize bass and reduce vibration. Something that was essential for me.
Also, this device has 5GHz Wi-Fi connection, which improves the audio transmission speed, syncing high-quality sound with your Sonos soundbar and your TV. The company recommends pairing the Sub Mini with Beam or Ray soundbars, as well as One or One SL speakers. This is the configuration that I have chosen and, as I mentioned previously, the Sub Mini puts the final climax to the audio system.
The dimensions of the product are 23 centimeters in height, 30 centimeters in width and 30 centimeters in depth, with a weight of 6.35 kilograms and an elegant design. Can be placed in any room space (ideally on the floor next to the TV or next to the sofa) and thanks to Trueplay it will adjust the sound so that the sound is the best possible from the place where the user sits to enjoy the content.
Definitely, a product that improves the audio system but It only makes sense if you already have the Sonos bar and side speakers that complete the surround sound system. An icing on a cake that is reserved for those who are willing to pay 500 euros more to improve this very specific aspect -although for some fundamental- such as the power of the bass to enjoy cinema sound.
