25 Aug. (Portaltic/EP) –
sound is developing a new high-end product internally identified as Optimo 2, a loudspeaker that will include a series of drivers that will allow it to reproduce sound in multiple directions.
After accessing the images of the recreation of this device, TheVerge has advanced that the company’s new product will present a clear evolution in design compared to the existing equipment in its catalog, such as Sonos One, Five, Arc, Beam and Roam.
This new loudspeaker will have a different format, with a double angle, and will integrate different drivers, including several that reproduce the sound in multiple directions, including the space between the front speaker grille and the back plate.
Predictably, Optimo 2 will be manufactured in two colors, black and whiteand shares certain aesthetic similarities with the Sonos Play 5 model. In addition, as sources close to the manufacturer have assured, it will include the double the RAM and up to eight times more flash memory than any of its other speakers.
Some of the standout features include streaming music over WiFi, like all Sonos products, but also Bluetooth audio can be streamed. This is currently only possible on portable ‘hardware’ like Move and Roam.
Also, this portal has advanced that the manufacturer would be planning to introduce playback via USB-C cableSo it would be, along with the Sonos Five, the only speaker with this streaming capability. Unlike the next Sonos release, the Five model uses a 3.5mm auxiliary input.
On the other hand, Sonos Optimo 2 will have an automatic sound adjustment to optimize its performance in various environments thanks to the fact that it incorporates microphones, which are expected to support Sonos VoiceControl.
Finally, The Verge has announced that this, which will offer the ability to support Dolby Atmos, will be the main product of a trio of devices in development. Thus, in this series will be included the products Optimum 1 and Optimum 1 SL, that will not have microphones.
These upcoming releases can be connected to each other thanks to an update coming soon.
