In addition to the upcoming Intel Lunar Lake and Arrow Lake of the fifteenth generation, Intel will also launch its New Intel Xeon processor series for servers called Granite Rapids. From X/Twitter they have left us the information with the Available references of this range, together with other data of interest as its TDPnumber of cores and cache and even the base frequency which this next generation of Intel Xeon will work with.
According to the leaked data, the Intel Xeon Granite Rapids will consist of 5 references that go from 72 cores to 128 cores of the most powerful. This reference with the highest number of cores is the Intel Xeon 6980Pwhich has a consumption of 500W for these 128 cores, a cache of 504 MB and the most contained base frequency of the entire range with only 2 GHz. On the contrary, the reference with fewer cores, the Intel Xeon 6960P has a higher base clock frequency with 2.7 GHzalso has a consumption of 500 W and a cache of 432 MB on a CPU with 72 cores.
In between we leave other Intel processors with 120 and 96 coresthe latter being the only one offered with a 500W and 400W TDPchanging its base frequency from 2.4 GHz for the higher-consumption version to 2.1 GHz for the lower-consumption version. This line of Intel Xeon processors is expected to be available during this third quarter of the current year, a line that will be expanded in 2025.
