The heavy snowfall in Japan has continued during the day of this Wednesday in what is being the most severe cold wave of the season, causing transport problems and traffic accidents.
A man has died in Fukuoka Prefecture as a result of the storm, while authorities are investigating the relationship to the storm of other deaths.
Several train lines have seen their schedules disrupted due to snow and strong winds, while Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways have said they plan to cancel more than 200 flights.
In addition, dozens of vehicles have been trapped on the roads, while traffic accidents have occurred due to frozen roads.
On the other hand, some schools and institutes have temporarily closed in Fukuoka, Saga and Nagasaki, prefectures located in the south of the country.
