SNL’s ‘Family Feud’ Election Spoof Roasts Democratic and Republican Candidates as Kamala Harris’ Glock Ends Up on Board

“Saturday Night Live” poked fun at both presidential candidates and showed what it would be like if former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris competed in a game of “Family Feud” before the election.

After Trump closed the door on a possible second debate with Harris, the NBC comedy parodied the two having a debate in the form of the beloved game show, with Kenan Thompson playing host Steve Harvey in the show’s cold open.

“I’m Steve Harvey and I’ve spent the last 20 years hosting every TV show as my alibi for Diddy’s parties,” Harvey says of Thompson in the sketch. “Tonight we have two political rivals.”

The two candidates join the game show host at the podium where Trump, played by James Austin Johnson, says, “I’m telling you, Steve, she’s going to be horrible at this game. He is a person with a very low IQ. “The whole world laughs at her because they don’t respect her like they respected me.”

Harris, played by Maya Rudolph, then accuses Trump of being easily manipulated through flattery.

“You look handsome tonight,” Rudolph says, to which Johnson replies, “I love her. Isn’t she great? “She has my vote.”

Thompson then asks the candidates to name something they keep in the glove compartment of a car, prompting Rudolph to come in and start going on a tirade, and the show pokes fun at how her campaign repeatedly mentions how she was raised in a family of middle class for his mother.

As Rudolph continues to ramble, Thompson presses her on the question.

“Oh, a Glock, Steve. A great Glock,” he responds in reference. Harris mentioned in an interview last week that he owns a Glock.

The question then turned to the Democrats’ side, which included Harris’ running mate Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.), played by Jim Gaffigan, President Joe Biden, played by Dana Carvey, and Doug Emhoff, played by Andy Samberg. .

Both Gaffigan and Carvey’s responses do not appear on the board, changing it to the Republicans, who included JD Vance, played by Bowen Yang, Donald Trump Jr., played by Mikey Day, and a notably missing Melania Trump.

However, both Day and Yang say they were told not to speak, putting Johnson-like Trump back in the spotlight to complain that the question was “unfair” because he had never ridden in the front seat of a car.

Johnson then rants about immigrants and China, to which Thompson responds, “Show me the dementia,” which yields no results.

“Saturday Night Live,” now in its 50th season, opens the show each week with jokes about the upcoming presidential election.
