Smartwatch straps are very dirty, but there is an easy solution with two euros and this Mercadona product

One of the features of the Apple Watch that does not usually go unnoticed is a good customization level. The same watch, whether it’s an Apple Watch SE, an Apple Watch Series 8, or an Apple Watch Ultra, can be adapted to different usage scenarios thanks to the multiple faces and straps that are available.

We can choose from a wide variety of designs and styles ranging from classic to sporty and even elegant. The truth is that all straps have one thing in common: sooner or later they end up getting dirty. Even some versions, like the orange €99 Loop Alpine, are a real magnet for dirt.

Clean the straps with Mercadona’s “Magic Eraser”

If you have an Apple Watch, you may have tried to clean its straps on more than one occasion. Like you, one of our Applesfera colleagues, Pedro Aznar, tried various alternatives so that the straps of his smart watch they will recover their original appearance. After many attempts he found a solution that did not hesitate to recommend.

We are talking about resorting to the so-called “Magic Eraser” that can be bought at Mercadona for only 1.45 euros. It is a sponge designed to remove stains on doors, walls, skirting boards and even tiles, but it has been very effective with Apple Watch straps. Let’s see how to use this product correctly.

To begin with, as Aznar explains, it is only necessary to have three elements. The leash, one of the magic eraser sponges (they come in a pack of three), and a bowl of hot water. The procedure is quite simple, you must wet the white end of the sponge and wring it out until it doesn’t drip. After rub in circles.

A good tip is to do a cleaning test on a small, inconspicuous surface of the strap. If the result is as expected, you can continue with the rest. It may also be a good idea to use a kitchen towel under the belt to protect the counter or table.

The process, as we have said, will consist of rubbing in circles and carefully the entire area to be cleaned until all the dirt disappears. Then wet the pink part of the sponge a little and pass it gently across the strap to remove any remnants that may have remained from the eraser. Finally, let it air dry.
