The group YEthrough SM Markets, plans to open 10 to 15 new stores this year to provide provincial regions with better access to a modern grocery shopping experience, addressing the essential needs of Filipino communities in underserved areas.
With these new stores, SM Markets will have more than 350 establishments throughout the country this year, of which more than 70% are located outside the National Capital Region (NCR).
This regional expansion is in line with SM Markets’ commitment to reach more customers by bringing quality, affordable products and exceptional service to more Filipino households. The new grocery stores will offer more choice to local communities and at the same time support local micro and SMEs by giving them the opportunity to display their products on shelves and at weekend markets.
