At least six people have died and another twelve have been injured due to a new attack carried out late on Monday by the Russian Army against the Ukrainian province of Sumi, located in the northeast of the country, according to authorities denounced this Tuesday. from Ukraine.

“Russian murderers have committed another terrible crime in the province of Sumi,” the provincial government said on its Telegram account, before specifying that the attack was carried out with at least two drones against “peaceful residents” in the town of Glujiv. .

The office has indicated that among the deceased there is a minor and has conveyed its condolences to the victims’ families, while confirming that there could be people trapped in the rubble, so it cannot be ruled out that the death toll increase in the next few hours.

The attack took place about a day after another missile attack on the provincial capital, Sumi, which left at least eleven dead, including two children, and around 90 injured, according to the State Emergency Service.

The governor of Sumi, Volodimir Artiuj, then denounced that “the inhuman Russians used ballistic missiles with cluster explosives, which had a huge effect”, before pointing out that the attack was directed against a “densely populated” residential area. and “critical infrastructure” in the city.
