Oct. 23 (EUROPA PRESS) –
At least six people have died in clashes between militiamen from the armed jihadist group Boko Haram and its offshoot, the Islamic State in West Africa (ISWA).
ISWA members attacked Boko Haram positions in Gajibo, in the Maiduguri region, the Nigerian newspaper ‘Daily Post’ reported, citing counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama.
The attackers quietly infiltrated a Boko Haram camp, attacked its members and also took five AK-47 rifles.
The incident is part of the historical rivalry between the two Islamist groups that makes the ISWA militias concentrate more on attacking Boko Haram than on insurgency work against the security forces.
On the other hand, two people have died and three more have been kidnapped in an attack perpetrated this Sunday in the state of Katsina in an attack by bandits, reports the ‘Daily Post’.
