The signing of the agreement between the National Government and the winners for the purchase of 3 million hectares of land of the latter was postponed.
The agreement was made public on Thursday, October 6 and its officialization was agreed for this Friday, October 7, at 9 am, but it could not be finalized on behalf of the agenda of President Gustavo Petro.

According to sources from Casa de Nariño to the newspaper EL TIEMPO, President Petro had a private day in Cartagena, during this Friday, so it was impossible to organize the times.
The Minister of Agriculture, Cecilia López, will have the task of organizing the rescheduling of the agreement.

What is known about the agreement
The ranchers promised to sell the Government 3 million hectares that the Executive needs to advance in its proposal for comprehensive rural reform and total peace.
This pact has been called the ‘Great national agreement for the agrarian pact’.

Regarding the agreement, it is known that the Government’s proposal is owner 7 million hectares and allocate another 3 million to people who are claiming land in the country to make it productive.
The Casa de Nariño estimates that the acquisition of the properties may have a cost of about 60 billion pesos. Added to this is that the winners will receive support from the Rural Development Agency for credits, adaptation of the land and for productive projects.
