We open Press Review with the headlines from the Mexican media about the electoral victory of the official candidate, Claudia Sheinbaum, who will be the first woman in 200 years to occupy the head of state in Mexico. The local newspaper, ‘Excélsior’, gives us some curious information about the elected president, who will take office on October 1. Sheinbaum is the first graduate of a scientific career (Doctor in Physics) who will assume the Presidency. She is also the first elected leader to come from the student union struggle and the pioneer in winning three consecutive electoral processes in the different levels of power. She resigned from the mayoralty of the capital, Mexico City, to run for the Executive and won on her first attempt. Her ally, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, followed the same trajectory, but achieved it after three applications.
