Sheinbaum: “There is no record of a judge having asked to eliminate something from the Official Gazette of the Federation”

( Spanish) – The president of Mexico Claudia Sheinbaum once again ratified this Tuesday the official publication of the judicial reform. “There is no record that a judge has asked to eliminate something from the Official Gazette of the Federation,” said the president in her morning press conference.

“Is the judge asking to mutilate an official newspaper?” Sheinbaum asked.

On Thursday, Judge Nancy Juárez Salas, of the Nineteenth District Court of Veracruz, ruled that the Presidency failed to comply with the provisional suspension that ordered her not to publish the judicial reform in the DOF.

Sheinbaum criticized the judge and said that this request meant “tearing up the constitution.”

The president emphasized that protections, such as the one presented in this case, do not apply to constitutional reforms. He added that the Executive has not yet been notified of said order to remove the judicial reform from the DOF.
