Sheets begins rolling out a feature to generate custom templates with Duet AI

Google has started to introduce a new function for Spreadsheets in the Workspace Labs program, tool driven Duet AIwith which he is able to suggest and generate custom templates through a description of the purpose for which the template is to be used.

The tech giant introduced Duet AI last May as a collaboration tool based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) that assists the user in tasks such as programming and the generation of personalized content in services such as Gmail, Slides or Meet. Thus, he is able to generate complete functions in real time.

Now, the company has announced a new feature that it has begun to implement in the Spreadsheets with the Duet AI tool. As communicated through a Twitter postthis new feature is capable of suggesting and generating custom templates based on the description provided by the user.

In other words, as exemplified by Google, users they will be able to enter a description to create a template with a specific objective, such as an agenda for a day in which a specific event takes place. Thus, Duet AI will generate a table including questions such as hours, location, description of the activity or others relevant options that may be useful for the described event.

To carry out a template, users must use the panel located on the right margin of the screen in which the ‘Help me organize’ option. In this way, you only have to describe in the box the purpose of the template and what features it should incorporate.

After that, it will generate a template preview automatically, that the user can finish editing or customizing to taste. Once it is finished, all you have to do is click on the ‘Insert’ option to permanently affix it to the document.

This new function, which aims to help the user with their work tasks in Spreadsheets, is being rolling out gradually for testers of the Google’s Workspace Labs program.
