Gómez Sierra has made herself an important place within the inner circle of the next president of Mexico; during Sheinbaum’s presidential campaign she was her economic advisor.
For the next administration, its work will focus on the coordination of businessmen with the Ministry of Economy and Finance for the regional development and relocation (nearshoring).
For Gómez Sierra, regional development planning is of utmost importance, which would include the south-southeast of the country.
She is a lawyer from the Escuela Libre de Derecho, where she received three honorable mentions. She also has courses in Finance and Negotiation from Harvard Business School and the Oxford Royal Academy.
She is the president of Grupo Empresarial PEO, which includes Minsa (the second largest corn producing company in the world), Dina (manufacturer of buses and trucks), Almer (logistics, storage, financing and distribution of products), and Mercader Financial (credits for companies and individuals with business activity).
He is part of the third generation of the family business group, in which he began to get involved at a young age.
The businesswoman has served as an independent member of several advisory boards, such as government development banks NAFIN and Bancomext.
She is also a national advisory member of the Women’s Business Coordinating Council, Citibank Latin America and Grupo Salinas Pliego.
The business sector sees Gómez Sierra as a woman who brings with her a fresh and committed vision, which they hope will translate into effective initiatives for Mexico’s economic development.
