“You know they say the world spins? I’ve lived on a lake for 30 years and I’ve never seen the lake move left or right,” the basketball legend said.

Former American basketball player Shaquille O’Neal defended his position that the Earth is flat by explaining his experience on a flight from the US to Australia.

In an appearance on the YouTube channel Kyle and Jackie 0the 50-year-old NBA legend was asked if his comments about the conspiracy theory were “a joke” or if he really believed them.

“It’s a theory,” O’Neal replied to the hosts. “It’s just a theory, they teach us a lot of things. It’s just a theory,” he reiterated.

To support his point of view, the athlete used his recent 20-hour flight as an example and noted that at no time “turned upside down” on the plane.

“You know they say the world turns? I’ve lived on a lake for 30 years and I’ve never seen the lake move to the left or to the right,” he told the show’s listeners.

Previously, O’Neal justified the theory by arguing that he was driving from Florida to California all the time, and on the way he was not going “up and down at a 360-degree angle.”
