Meanwhile, the Qatari Foreign Ministry has insisted that the resolution of the Syrian crisis involves the application of resolution 2254 of the United Nations Security Council, “in a way that serves the interests of the Syrian people and preserves unity, the sovereignty and independence of their country.

For his part, Jordan’s Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi, has stressed the need for a new “inclusive” political process that “satisfies the aspirations of the Syrian people.” In an interview with the Al Mamlaka television channel, Safadi defended the construction of a Syria in which “terrorism and its gangs do not exist” and has rejected “any aggression or attempt to occupy any of its territories.”

Along these lines, the Government of Iraq has reiterated “the importance of non-interference in the internal affairs of Syria and the rejection of all support for one party to the detriment of another.”
