The rains have also caused significant damage to infrastructure and agricultural land, while the director of the provincial Meteorology Department, Ali Ashgar Deghanpur, has asked the population to avoid flood-prone areas.

On the other hand, the floods have also caused several power outages and the authorities have highlighted that the risk of new floods remains high, especially due to the forecasts that the rains will continue during the coming days, as reported by the Iranian agency. Tasnim news.

The governor of Khorasan Razavi, Mohsen Davari, has stated that hundreds of people have been displaced by the floods, while the Iranian Red Crescent has already begun the distribution of tents, sheets and other essential goods to support part of the population. of the victims.

The seriousness of the situation has led the Iranian Interior Minister, Ahmed Vahidi, to travel to Mashhad this Thursday for a session of the crisis management cell that will be held in the coming hours to address the search and rescue work. and reconstruction of affected areas.
