June 17 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Tens of thousands of protesters demonstrated again this Monday against the Government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and the protest has led to serious riots in Jerusalem, where nine are detained.
One of those detained would be Noiam Dan, cousin of the wife of Ofer Calderon, one of the hostages held in Gaza.
Protesters have gathered in front of the headquarters of the Israeli Knesset or Parliament and in front of Netanyahu’s residence on Azza Street. The Police have reported that some protesters “began to disturb the order and have confronted the officers and have set fires on the road”, according to ‘The Times of Israel’.
They have once again requested the calling of early elections and an agreement for the release of the hostages held in the Gaza Strip by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).
Videos spread on social networks show the Police using water cannons against protesters. One of these cannons would have hit a health worker who was wearing an identification vest. She has been taken to a hospital due to an impact on her eye.
