The Colombian Police captured José Humberto Cuéllar Ferrara in Santandera Mexican surgeon wanted in his country in a case of sexual abuse and harassment, So he fled to Colombia where he hid, pretending to be an arepa seller.

The director of Criminal Investigation (Dijin), Colonel Hebert Mejía Castro, said that the capture of Cuéllar, 36 years old, occurred in the municipality of Floridablanca.
The surgeon is required by the Control Court of the Accusatory Criminal Procedure System of Mexico City, for the crimes of aggravated sexual abuse, sexual harassment, negligent injuries and professional liability, so he had a red Interpol notice.
According to investigations by Mexican authorities, Cuéllar allegedly made inappropriate touches when examining a patient who was intending to undergo plastic surgery.

This was repeated on different occasions, even when evaluating it, After the surgery he made unwanted comments of a sexual nature, according to investigations and evidence collected by the authorities of that country.
The victim of these crimes, nurse Norma Patricia Ayala, denounced Cuéllar, after he performed cosmetic surgery on her in May 2022, which, for one “malpractice” It caused injuries to his body and put his life at risk.
Later, Ayala reported to the authorities and on social networks that she felt insecure and feared for her life due to the threats she received from surgeon Cuéllar for reporting him.
On June 11, 2023 in the town of Iztapalapa in the Mexican capital, Ayala was murdered when she was preparing to go to work.
Following that murder, Surgeon Cuéllar left Mexico by land to Guatemala City where he took a flight to Colombia where he was finally captured in Floridablanca.
“There he was hidden behind the facade of selling arepas in his wife’s business”said the Colombian Police, who put him at the disposal of the Prosecutor’s Office while they extradite him to Mexico.
