Recently, the case of a goldfish that was able to defeat the first phase of Malenia, the most difficult boss of the FromSoftware video game, went viral. And no, it’s not a joke. Now, how was it possible? Is the aquatic animal a super intelligent being? The explanation is less crazy, but very interesting.
Actually, the fish is called Tortellini and it is the mascot of Pointcrow, a popular American youtuber and streamer. Thus, he was able to “play” the open-world RPG title thanks to a special device that his owner designed.

Obviously, the animal does not play the masterpiece by FromSoftware and Hidetaka Miyazaki in a conscious way. What happens is that Pointcrow created a special control in the form of a grid that detects movements and performs one or several actions depending on where the fish is in the water tank.
Although the content creator confesses that it was difficult to make the necessary connections and get everything to work correctly, the end result is equal parts impressive and funny.

The youtuber and streamer took to his social networks to share a one-minute clip where Tortellini is seen fighting Malenia and surviving the first phase of the match, which is an achievement in itself. In the comments section, dozens of users expressed their astonishment. “This is beautiful, I want to cry,” wrote one fan.
Pointcrow promised to upload a video next week, so very soon we’ll be seeing Tortellini’s misadventures for elden ring.
While this feat is incredible, it’s not the first time a fish has stolen the show.
