The objective of the activity was to raise awareness in the University Community about the Sustainable Development Goal SDG12.
An exchange of articles in good condition was the one that took place in the second version of “Ecotrueque”, which took place at the Technological Institute, Talcahuano Headquarters, and was organized by the Technological Scientific Nucleus and the Vice-Rectory for Linking with the Environment with the objective of raising awareness in the University Community about the Sustainable Development Goal SDG12.
On the occasion, IT students and teachers were able to exchange clothes, books and technological items, among others. “The idea is that everyone can understand the importance of waste management and thus contribute to the aforementioned objective, in addition to the Institutional Development Plan.” In this sense, we seek that everyone generates an exchange of something that they no longer need, but that can have life for a second person,” said Angélica Rodríguez, Executive Coordinator of the SDG Program.
Regarding the IT experience, Rodríguez pointed out that “we are very happy to be present here, since several students came, because we can sow a seed to have a more sustainable culture.”
“It was an entertaining activity, since we were able to exchange things in order to reuse them with the intention of not continuing to pollute the planet,” said Dafhne Chávez, a first-year student of the University Technician in Early Childhood Education career.
For her part, Marla Mellado, a student in the same career, indicated that “I liked the initiative, even more so now that we are living as a country, helping to reuse things and not lose their usefulness.”
It should be noted that this idea is expected to be replicated in the different UCSC campuses and Technological Institute Headquarters, to extend it to the entire University Community.
