The version of Scorn for PlayStation 5 will run at 4K and 60 FPS, just like on Xbox Series X, and will take advantage of the haptic functions of the DualSense controller. The Serbian study ensures that the functions of the peripheral will allow PS5 players to immerse themselves more in the twisted world of the game. In Scorn there are no spoken dialogues and all the narration is ambient, which is why Ebb Software maintains that the haptic characteristics of the PlayStation 5 controller will be “a great addition” to the peculiar audiovisual experience that Scorn proposes.
For example, in Scorn the protagonist of the game interacts with the world with his hands and most of these interactions are painful for him. The development team has used the haptic function to transfer that sensation to the hands of the players. The adaptive triggers of the DualSense controller have also been taken advantage of, which transmit different sensations depending on the tool or weapon used.
Regarding the edition in physical format, the publisher Kepler Interactive has reported that it will soon be able to be reserved for both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. This edition will include the full game, a limited edition SteelBook box, the game’s original soundtrack, and a digital art book. The price has not been disclosed.
Scorn is an atmospheric horror game inspired by the works of HR Giger that is set in a desolate world, abandoned by its previous inhabitants and left in the hands of monstrous creatures. Players arrive in this biological labyrinth without any information and the only way to escape is by learning the rules of this nightmarish place and manipulating the machinery left there. Escape and survival depend on the ability to collect the secrets and use the organic tools available.
