Scammers are selling Mortal Kombat 1 codes at exorbitant prices

However, everything indicates that they could fall for a scam.

Interested people had to submit an application, although that did not guarantee access.

NetherRealm Studios confirmed that it was going to select the participants at random. While many content creators, pro gamers, and fans have received their code and can already play an early version of Mortal Kombat 1the vast majority of the community was left out.

Unfortunately, hoarders and scammers are aware of this situation and have taken advantage of the hype of franchise enthusiasts.

Scammers Sell Fake Mortal Kombat 1 Codes

According to reports, it is already possible to find codes that give access to the online test session of Mortal Kombat 1 on digital stores like eBay. As is often the case, they are available at exorbitant prices that border on the ridiculous.

A player shared a screenshot on the Mortal Kombat subreddit showing a hoarder selling an access code for $1000 USD, or more than 17,000 MXN. According to the information, the item disappeared from eBay shortly after, although the reason is unknown.

If we visit eBay, it is possible to find many keys that supposedly allow you to play the trial version of the NetherRealm Studios title. Their prices range between $1,000 MXN and $5,000 MXN. With any luck, no player will be consumed by despair and acquire those codes, the veracity of which is in question.

The famous influencer and insider Thethiny pointed out that he has seen the same codes that are for sale in different accounts, so he assures that it is possibly a scam. “Don’t buy any codes, they’re all sold out,” was his final warning.

The online stress test session is now available on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 and will end until June 26. During that period, fans who applied and received a code via email will be able to play as 4 characters: Kenshi, Sub-Zero, Liu Kang, and Kitana. Only online games and Arcade mode are available in the trial.
