MADRID 15 Nov. () –

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, will hold several meetings with international leaders during his stay at the G20 summit being held in Rios de Janeiro (Brazil) at the beginning of next week, including the leaders of Vietnam, Canada, Australia and also from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

According to sources from Moncloa, the head of the Executive will hold these meetings although his team is working on closing some more that are not yet confirmed, outside the official agenda that this year is titled ‘For a fairer world on a sustainable planet’.

Sánchez, therefore, will meet, between Monday, November 18 and Tuesday, the 19th, with the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeu; that of Australia, Anthony Albanese and with the Prime Minister of Vietnam, Pham Minh Chính. He will also carry out a bilateral meeting with the managing director of the International Monetary Fund, Kristalina Georgieva.

ALL LEADERS ATTEND BUT PUTIN

According to reports from Moncloa, all invited leaders are expected to attend the summit, with the exception of the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin. Even the president of China, Xi Jinping, who did not participate in last year’s edition in New Delhi (India), is expected to attend.

In fact, Xi is likely to remain in Brazil for a few more days after the summit ends to hold a bilateral meeting with the host, Brazilian President Lula Da Silva.

BEGOÑA GÓMEZ’S AGENDA

On the other hand, from Moncloa they report that the parallel agenda that the wife of the President of the Government, Begoña Gómez, will follow, is marked by the Brazilian presidency, which is the one who issues an official invitation to the companions of the heads of State and Government.

Therefore, it will be the host country that prepares the events in which the accompanying persons can participate, as is usual in all G20 summits, although at the moment the details are not known.
