The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, tries to turn the page on the institutional clash with the Community of Madrid on account of the presence of Minister Félix Bolaños at the institutional acts of Dos de Mayo. During the appearance this Thursday at the Moncloa Palace together with the President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, and before questions from the press, Sánchez defended the need to “not forget some minimum rules for coexistence”.
“In a democracy, the rules and institutions must be respected regardless of who governs or what territory it is from, let’s talk about Madrid or Catalonia,” defended the president, who did not directly allude to Isabel Díaz Ayuso but noted: “Whoever does not respect the rules always loses reason.”
Politically, the decision of Moncloa and in the PSOE is not to stretch a political conflict that in the environment of the President of the Government has especially annoyed and that, they think, only benefits Ayuso herself. Minister Bolaños himself, in fact, today evaded press questions on the matter during an institutional visit to the province of Cádiz, just as he also did this Wednesday during a tribute in Madrid to the victims of Nazism.
